Fijian Badminton player, Danielle Whiteside has defeated Johanna Kou of New Caledonia in the bronze medal final of the Pacific Games Badminton Competition.

Whiteside had not defeated Kou in any of their previous encounters.

Whiteside was able to extend play to 3 sets, pushing through the pain of an ankle and shin injury in an inspirational performance.
