October 15, 2019 4:50 pm

The stage is set for the much-awaited rematch between boxers Savenaca Naliva and Joseph Kwadjo.

The two had fought earlier in February, but the match was stopped in the 6th round due to slippery conditions in the ring.

Ghana-born Kwadjo knows the stakes are high as he prepares to fight Ba native Savenaca Naliva next Saturday.

“I think he’s coming for the knockout, I’m also going for the knockout. I think it’s going to be a good fight for people to watch because what they saw last time they said Joseph is this and that but they need to come and see it.”

Kwadjo says he is calm and mentally prepared to face Naliva.

South Pacific Boxing Promoter Freddy Chand assures that issues from the previous bout has been sorted and there will be no altercations during the event.

“Last time the excuse was the canvas was wet but this time there are no excuses. We expect both boxers to come out firing at each other. All issues have been sorted and both camps are really hungry for each other.”

There will be a total of nine bouts.

The main bout will be between Savenaca Naliva and Joseph Kwadjo who will be contesting for the vacant light heavyweight title at Prince Charles Park in Nadi next Saturday.
