Local heavyweight boxers to have more local and international bouts: Bulutani

Professional boxing in the country is brewing with growing interest in the Heavyweight Division.

Fiji Boxing Commission Chair Sara Bulutani says they will this year be investing more in promoting our local heavyweight boxers to have more local and international fights.

Bulutani says Fiji is working with local and overseas promoters with anticipation on the next Heavyweight sensation to rise from Fiji.

“Back of our mind is our mission and our hope is to mold and develop one of our boxers especially our mission in the next 3 to 5 years to come out from Fiji. It has to be home grown.”

Currently, there are five registered heavyweight boxers in the country, with an additional four this year and two are currently on exhibition level.
