Boxing Commission explains about its ongoing saga

Boxing Commission of Fiji has come out to explain the reasons why they had to stop the fight between Savenaca Naliva and Joseph Kwadjo at the South Pacific Boxing Promotion last weekend.

Commission’s West Director Usman Ali says they took the decision after consulting everyone involved.

“It was the decision of the Boxing Commission board, the officials and with both the parties agree then we had to stop the contest. It was stopped for the safety of the boxers.”

Senior referee Fatu Tuimanono says for them the safety of the boxes was paramount.

“That incident happened, the slippery canvas, it was out of control and we all decided meaning all the judges, and the referees that we have call off the fight.”

Meanwhile, Naliva has called for a rematch with Kawadjo which he wants to be staged in Ba.
