The Boxing Commission of Fiji chairman Sara Bulutani reminded all local boxing clubs that any international bout that involves a title fight is controlled by the World Boxing Foundation or the World Boxing Federation.

Bulutani made this comment yesterday with regards to the controversy between local boxer Sebastian Singh’s management and the World Boxing Foundation regarding the Asia Pacific Super lightweight title.

He says Singh claims the title was vacated by his team whereas the WBF says it was stripped off him.

“The Boxing Commission of Fiji confirms that the WBF Asia Pacific super lightweight title was stripped off Sebastian Singh in accordance with the decision made by WBF and we respect that.”

Bulutani says the local Boxing Commission comes under the leadership of the WBF and local boxers must draw a line of respect.

“Any information regarding an international title is under the WBF and we just help in trying to facilitate that fight and we respect that.”

Meanwhile in a press release from the Westwood Boxing Promotion management, the program is now scheduled for the 16th of next month, but this will only go ahead if the local boxing commission gives the green light.
