Bowls Fiji has received a major boost ahead of its annual Pineapple Cup tournament this weekend.

Kontiki Finance today sponsored $4000 to the event which is expected to rope in more than 60 bowlers in the two day competition.

Bowls Fiji official Abdul Kalim says they hope a get in the best bowlers around the country together this weekend.

“This is the 91st year for this trophy and we are proud to have a strong sponsor to back this trophy up and let all our bowlers in know and give them an opportunity to be part of these prestigious tournament.”

The Pineapple Cup will be played in men’s and women’s singles discipline on Saturday and Sunday at the Suva Bowling Club.
