January 15, 2019 4:30 pm

Former New Zealand Bowling rep Maurice Symes has been appointed as the interim coach for Bowling Fiji.

The 74-year-old will also be the strength and conditioning mentor for local bowlers in preparation for the Samoa’s Pacific Games in July.

Team Manager Ratish Lal says the players are looking forward to working together with the coach for future international meets.

“The high-performance coach from New Zealand was present at the trials last week. We are going through this trial process. We will probably have three trials and if that is not sufficient than we might call for a fourth one to decide on the team.”

Bowling Fiji will have its second trial for the Pacific Games in Suva next month.
