Bowling is regarded as a minor sport in the country…however over the years the sport has fought above its weight gaining international recognition.

In the western division, bowls is usually not in the limelight. This week though they get that chance with the opening of the Sunny West Bowling Carnival at the Nadi Sports Club.

The tournament has grown in the last five years, attracting not only some of the best local bowlers but also a good number of international bowlers from Australia and Papua New Guinea.
