Blues secure win on first day

The Lautoka football side is the only Fiji team to have registered a win on Day One of the Pacific Football Cup in New Zealand.

In yesterday’s last match, the Blues came from behind to beat USA All Stars 2-1.

The All Stars got on the score sheet first with a penalty goal with Lautoka missing from the spot kick minutes later.

Alvin Avinesh equalised for the sugar city side from the third penalty in the game before Kamal Hassan, the former Lautoka rep scored an own goal to hand the Fiji side victory.

In other matches played yesterday, CFR Line Suva held defending champion NZFFI All Stars to a 1-all draw, Nadi and Manuakau All Stars played to a nil-all draw while Auckland All Stars defeated Rewa 2-nil.

Jone Kaloutani and goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau were red carded in the match.
