The best is yet to come from the Vodafone Fiji 7s side.

This is the view of coach, Ben Ryan as the side builds-up for the Sydney 7s this weekend.

Ryan says defending the World Sevens Series title is not the team’s main objective this season.

“We’re playing the long game this year. World Series is the number two priority. Number one priority is winning the Olympic Games and everything is going towards that. We’re certainly learning and getting better so the best is certainly yet to come.”

Fiji will face Samoa in the opening match of the Sydney 7s at 12pm on Saturday followed by the clash against France at 3:18pm.

Fiji’s last pool game is against Argentina at 7:21pm.
