“Yes there were some struggles along the way that we managed to overcome. But this was my preparation for the Pacific Games so this Coke Games has really helped me a lot. I would like to thank especially the PTA family for helping us, the Gospel family and not forgetting my family.”

Bese won two gold medals in the senior girls blue ribbon event as well as the 200 meters final and a bronze medal in the 4×100 meters relay.

She broke an 18 year old record in the senior girls 200 meters, set in 1997 by former sprint queen, Makelesi Bulikiobo.
