Beranadeta wins 3000m gold

Waidina Secondary School’s Maria Beranadeta won the first gold medal on Day Two of the 2015 Coca Cola Games after finishing in first place in the open girls 3000 meters race at the ANZ Stadium.

Sereana Nai of Vaturova Koroalau High School claimed the silver medal while Vasenai Ratu of Jasper Williams High School claimed the bronze medal.

National rep, Avikash Lal took home the gold medal in the open boys 3000 meters.

Lekima Regu of Ratu Luke Memorial School claimed the silver medal while Viliame Dileqa of Wainimala Secondary School.

Underway on the tracks now are the heats for the 4×100 meters relay.

On the field, the senior boys triple jump, junior girls long jump, senior boys high jump, senior girls shot put, junior boys discus throw and intermediate girls javelin throw.

On the medal tally, Natabua High School leads the boys division with 8 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.

Queen Victoria School is second with 5 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze followed by Marist Brothers High School with 4 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze medals.

In the girls division, Jasper Williams High School leads with 10 gold medals, 5 silver and 4 bronze.

Adi Cakobau School is second with 3 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze followed by Saint Josephs Secondary School with 3 gold medals.
