Baxter frustrated over delays in Votu deal

October 26, 2012 12:01 am

Exeter Chiefs have expressed their disappointment over the delays, which are holding up Flying Fijians back Watisoni Votu from joining the side.

The former Fiji 7s skipper had agreed a deal to move to the Chiefs, who are competing in the Heineken Cup for the first time this season, in the summer.

But Votu’s switch to Sandy Park has been held up, with the winger yet to get a tier five license which allows sportsmen to play in the UK for up to 12 months.

Chiefs coach Rob Baxter admitted they had considered pulling the plug on the deal, but he believes Votu can become a key player for the club if granted the necessary visa.
