Team Fiji’s Women’s side is just trying to get used to the rules to Basketball.

This is the first time the shorter version of the game is being played at the Pacific Games and Fiji Captain Kayla Mendez says they have to be mindful of the rules.

“A lot of us are still getting used to the rules, all of us I believe with the exception of Mili, I think this is the first time for us playing 3 on 3. So just being able to quickly adapt to the rules you know like someone scores the other team takes it out so it’s just getting used to that, I think you know we never settle for any performance that we have from every game that we look to build on something that we didn’t do well prep for the next game, we are not underestimating any team whatsoever here. So I think we are just working on us as a team. Getting better you know, getting defensive stops, being able to communicate since it’s a faster-paced game, so just trying to be able to gel well together.”
