Basketball Fiji has launched its Bula Hoops program to help introduce basketball to youths and kids in Suva.

Bula Hoops is part of the Basketball for Good program which is an Australian Aid initiative in partnership with FIBA.

Basketball Fiji Development Officer Kenneth Taliu says this program will help youths who are interested in the sport develop their knowledge and skill.

Our main purpose behind this programme is to teach kids about NCD’s and to raise awareness with them, also show how they can combat NCD’s through sports.

A new component to this year’s Bula Hoops program is the integration of age divisions within the participants which will see 5 to 14-year-old kids being part of the program.

The Bula Hoops program is expected to run for 10 weeks.
