Basketball Fiji names squad for U15 Oceania Championship

Basketball Fiji has announced the 30 member squad for the men’s and women’s teams to the inaugural FIBA U15 Oceania Championship in Papua New Guinea at the year end.

Chief Operations Officer Laisiasa Puamau says there has been a lot of effort and resources put together in the efforts to compete in the regional under 15 qualifiers.

“Our Aim is to finish at top 4 at the tournament on the understanding that every participating country will be bringing their best teams so competition will be tough and we will have to be at our best”

The winner for the tournament will qualify in the under 16 Asia Championship in 2019.

Fiji will compete against Australia, New Zealand, Guam, PNG, Samoa and Tonga.

The Championship will be held on the 3rd to the 8th of December.
