“We are encouraging Women to take up not baseball but we are trying to revive our softball program so we have had a few girls that joined last week Saturday.”

Niubalavu says the last time there was a Softball team was in 2006.

“We have a few senior women softball players that were playing before, so we are trying to bring them back in, for them to be part of the committee and for them to take charge of the women’s softball program.”

New Coach Taka Hironishio has been adjusting well to Fijian Baseball since arriving from Japan.

“There is nothing I want to change, but if I need to say, I want to change is mindset of the players.”

The Association has decided they will hold baseball clinics every Saturday of this month to attract more female participants interested in the sport.
