The Nadi Barracudas swimming club celebrated its triumph at the Age Grade Short Course National competition in Namaka last night.

The theme for the celebration was Halloween and club members, friends and family came to the occasion decked out in the most outrageous costumes.

Nadi Barracudas Club President Ben Rova says the victory at the Damodar Aquatic Centre last week was a satisfying result because it was their first national title in 10 years.

“We prepared well for these championships. When we lost the long course nationals to the Dolphins Club earlier in the year by 1 silver medal, we came back and set the objective to come back stronger.”

Rova adds the swimmers were geared toward winning the short course national competition having train all year in a 25 meter pool in Nadi.
