16 year old Fijian volleyball player, Vasiti Baleilomaloma has been accepted into New Mexico Military Institute in the United States of America on a two-year scholarship.

The scholarship was made possible through the partnership of Australian Oceania Foundation (AOF) and Oceania National Olympic Committee (ONOC).

Kevan Gosper, the chairman of AOF says the scholarship initiative provides the opportunity for young people in the region to gain extended access to academic experience and a higher degree of sports activity at international level.

Baleilomaloma made her international debut for Fiji at the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.

The scholarship will commence in August.
