Bala adds drug abuse in sports is a serious issue which needs to be solved.

He says the Ministry is working together with all the sporting federations to have an anti-doping national policy.

Bala adds the main objective of the proposed national policy is for youths to understand the harmfulness of drugs to our sports people.

Therefore, to address the Drug abuse the government is very consent in this regard and therefore the ministry of youth and sports formulated a draft national sports and drug policy in 2016.”

The policy will go through a public and stakeholder consultation process before it is tabled in parliament.
