Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has thanked Fiji Airways men’s 7s coach Gareth Baber and the team for winning the London title and extending its lead on the World Rugby Sevens Series.
Bainimarama says he hopes the national team will end the series with a win in Paris 7s this weekend.
“Of course we need another superstar performance in Paris so congratulations to our boys and let get behind them as we look ahead to close out the sevens series.”
The Fiji 7s is pooled with New Zealand, Kenya and Samoa for the Paris tournament.
They will play Samoa in its first pool match at 8.50pm on Saturday and then faces Kenya at 11.46pm.Fiji plays its final pool match against New Zealand at 5.14am on Sunday.
The cup quarterfinal kicks off at 8.13pm, semi-finals will be at 12.03am next Monday and the final is scheduled for 4.54am.
