Fiji Airways 7s coach Gareth Baber admits that fatigue will be a challenge as they attempt to add the Singapore title to the remarkable fifth successive Hong Kong 7s triumph.
Baber says he will monitor the players throughout the week as they look to defend the Singapore 7s and be the first side to win a back-to-back tournament this season.
“I’ll be vigilant and stuff on players in monitoring around the group. We know what we going to do we’ve been here before. We’ve been in the situation we going in the second tournament and we have the fatigue levels that we have had.”
Fiji is the defending champion in Singapore after beating Australia 28-22 last in the final last year.
Fiji is pooled with South Africa, Canada, and Scotland in the Singapore 7s this weekend.
Fiji meets Canada at 4.36pm in its first pool match on Saturday, they will play Scotland at 8.20pm and take on South Africa at 11.28pm in its last pool match.
