Fiji Airways 7s coach Gareth Baber is impressed with the commitments of new players in the squad as they prepare for the Oceania 7s championship this weekend.

Baber has roped in under 20-players Filimoni Botitu and Ilikena Vuduolo, also the inclusion of Beniamino Vota and Napolioni Ratu.

He says they have been instrumental and competitive amongst the senior players in the squad.

“It’s important they stepped up and they have stepped up and the two young boys Ilikena and Botitu. They have both worked hard with good fitness course and they have good qualities in how they play the game.”

Fiji plays Solomon Islands in its first pool match at 4.57pm on Friday before taking on PNG at 8.06pm at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
