Ba without Rao for BOG

The Ba football side will be without Shamil Rao for the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament, which gets underway in Nausori on Friday.

Rao has gone to New Zealand and is not included in the final 22-member squad for the Westerners.

Ba football president Rishi Kumar says the team has been preparing well under the guidance of coach/player Ronil Kumar.

Having missed out on the national league and Fiji FACT titles, the Men in Black is out to make a mark in this tournament and have included a number of regulars for the tournament.

Fiji Under-23 reps Saula Waqa, Praneel Naidu and Manasa Nawakula are joined by the likes of Samuela Nabenia, his brother Malakai Tiwa, Alvin Singh and Misiwane Nairube.

Ba meets hosts Rewa in its first match at 7.30pm on Friday.

In other matches, Shop and Save Lautoka plays Tailevu Naitasiri at 1pm, Jedi’s Suva battles Jacks Nadi at 3pm and Labasa takes on Gecko’s Trucking Nadroga at 5.30pm.
