Ba eager to beat Tahitians at home

March 28, 2012 1:03 am

Ba Football vice president, Iliyaz Khan says they are eager to upset AS Tefana on home turf, in their final Group A O-League match on Saturday.

Khan says their 4-1 loss to the Tahitians last December handed them a few lessons while also exposing a few weaknesses, which they hope to capitalise on at Govind Park.

“From today, we’ll work on our set-pieces – we have played away against them but we know their strengths and weaknesses as well as our own and coach (Yogendra Dutt) is working on the strategies to get the results we want on Saturday.”

The Men in Black are also boosted with the return of the Fiji Under 23 reps – Remeuru Tekiata, Jone Salauneune and Laisenia Raura.

Ba’s pathways to reaching the 2012 O-League final in May will need to be a win against AS Tefana and hope that New Zealand’s Waitakere United draws, or even better loses, to AS Mont Dore on Saturday.

Auckland City leads Group B with 13 points and will play against Amicale FC while second placed side, Hekari United meet Koloale FC this weekend.
