The Australia 7s team secured the Sydney title, defeating South Africa in the final by 29 nil.
The memorable victory saw Australia snap a six-year drought on the World Rugby Sevens Series circuit.
Australian captain, Lewis Holland says it was a sweet victory in front of the home crowd and the win also sets the platform going in the Hamilton 7s.
“It’s awesome, that’s the goal we set to achieve this year and this is the first one and the boys backed up from game one to game six and we developed and we grew. We didn’t started well but we finished well.”
Australia’s Lachie Anderson was named the player of the final at the Allianz Stadium.
