Aussie masters rule hockey on Day One

The Fiji master’s men and women’s hockey teams suffered losses to their Australian counterparts in the Oceania Master’s championship at the national hockey centre yesterday.

The women were beaten 3-0 while the men’s side were hammered 8-0.

Fiji Hockey development officer, Tai Smith says games are expected to be exciting as the tournament progresses.

She adds there is a possibility to organise future tours overseas.

The four-day tournament continues today with the Australian teams taking on the national high performance men and women’s hockey squads.

Games begin from 5.30pm today.
