Aussie masters beat FIji HPU hockey again

The Australian women’s masters over 45s hockey side handed the Fiji High Performance Unit side another 3-0 defeat at the National Hockey Centre in Suva last night.

This is the second consecutive win for the visitors who have two matches remaining against the Fiji HPU women on Thursday and Friday.

Basics was the key for the Aussies to overcome a younger local outfit featuring the likes of national reps, Catherine Thaggard, Maxine Browne, Tiara Dutta, Lala Ravatu and Sarote Nakaora.

The hosts featured other U18 reps and a fairly young group of budding players who were just not able to put away the goals.

The Australian masters over 45s will today be holding clinics for junior players at the National Hockey Centre.

They are part of a group of six masters teams coming out of Australia to tour the world.

The over 45s women visited Fiji, an over 35s and 55s are in England while the 40s, 50s, 60s are all in the inaugural masters world cup in Rotadam.
