The Auckland City football side got its Fiji Airways OFC Champions League title defense off to a good start with a 3-0 win over Vodafone Suva.

The defending champions led 1-0 at halftime courtesy of a penalty goal to David Brown, after Alan Garcia was fouled by Suva defender, Kolinio Sivuki.

City managed to extend its lead in the second spell with goals to replacement, Sam Burfoot and Ivan Carril.

In the other match played this afternoon at Govind Park in Ba, AS Pirae drew with Lupe Ole Soaga 3-all.
