19-year-old Heleina Young has finally achieved her goal of bringing home a gold medal.

Young says this was the second Pacific Games she participated in and it has been a wonderful experience.

Leading up to the games we knew PNG would be our greatest rivals, all we had to do was prepare well, our main focus was to just trust each other. I am really happy with our win.

Young won silver in the women’s 100 meters while she won Gold with the relay team.
