Sokomuri wins first gold medal for Niusawa Secondary

Vani Sokomuri’s dream of getting back into the winning form has finally come alive after she won gold in the Intermediate Girls Javelin.

The 16-year old girl from Banikea in Bua says despite the hardship she faced back on the island, she managed to pull through and come out victorious in her grade.

“My parents are pastors and they travel a lot and I have to look after myself and train and I am thankful that God is with me to prepare for Cokes this year.”

Sokomuri won her first Coke Games medal in the in 2017 in the Sub-Junior Girls Javelin event, bagging Gold.

Last year she finished second in the Junior Girls Javelin event.
