Ten athletes have qualified in track and field events for Samoa’s Pacific Games in July.

Athletics Fiji Head Coach Albert Miller says four more athletes qualified in their final Grand Prix in Lautoka.

He says this is a worry for Fiji Athletics as they have only one more trial left.

“At the moment it’s a fairly small team I think. If I’m correct probably around 10 athletes in total have qualified for the Pacific Games. They basically qualify for the A and B grade. This is rather a low number for us but that’s just the way it goes and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for some of the athletes that were on the original list will start doing some amazing stuff in a few weeks.”

Miller hopes more athlete will qualify from the Fiji finals and final trial next month.
