Securing a spot to represent Fiji to the Samoa’s Pacific Games in July, Malakai Kaiwalu says it comes with a lot of pressure.
FASANOC President Joe Rodan says Kaiwalu is a strong for the high-jump event in the Pacific Games in July.
Kaiwalu jumped a personal best height of 2.09m in the High Jump and is expecting a stiff competition in Samoa.
“We don’t know because competition will be there so I don’t know if I will be getting the gold medal but I’m just going to do my best when I go there. I will be going in as a major competitor so the other countries will be expecting it as well so they will expect to do much better than me.”
Fiji, for the first time is expected to be well represented in the track and field events in the Pacific Games.
