Coke Games Torch leaves for Lau tomorrow

The Coca-Cola games torch relay begins its journey to the Lau Group tomorrow following its official launch at Vure Wai, Laucala Beach today.

175 students from the participating 76 schools will be carrying the torch as it travels to the Maritime Islands.

Coca-Cola Games Event Officer Onisiomo Rokotuinasau says they will be taking the torch to schools that never had the honor in the past.

“We will also stop over at Malolo’s Ratu Lalabalavu Secondary School and for the very first time, we’re taking the flame to one of the newest Secondary school in Fiji, Nasesevia Secondary in the high-lands of Nadi. And also for the very first time will be the torch will be going to Saint Thomas Baker Memorial School.”

The torch is expected to reach Lakeba on Thursday and will be carried around the country for 25 days before returning to ANZ stadium for the opening of the Coke Games.
