Banuve expecting tough competition

Pacific Sprint King Banuve Tabakaucoro is expecting stiff competition from Samoa’s Jeremy Dodson who clocked a faster time than him in the Oceania Athletics Championships.
Dodson clocked in a time of 21.11 seconds while Tabakaucoro ran a time of 21.15 seconds.
Both men will be competing in the same event at the Pacific Games.
“It’s his home ground, you know every hometown athlete will go out there and try to get the title but it’s not going to be any different for me.”
Tabakaucoro says he has been to countries and taken out titles from there so there isn’t much pressure for him on that front.
He was given a $1,000 spending money by Digicel Fiji today.
This is not a sponsorship deal but is a token of appreciation to Tabakaucoro and all the hard work he has put in so far.
The Pacific Sprint King will depart for Samoa on Saturday.
