Athletics Fiji eyes more numbers

Athletics Fiji is aiming to take more athletes in the 2015 Pacific Games compared to the previous years.

This as the nation bids to get back to the top in the region in the sport.

Athletics Fiji vice president, Joe Rodan Jnr, says they have set a platform for the aspiring athletes who are capable of representing the nation.

“We have a challenge that’s called a 35/24 one challenge. We want to take thirty five officials and athletes. 25 athletes… 10 officials winning gold medals and finish number one again in the Pacific Games.”

Meanwhile, Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports, Iliesa Delana launched Team Fiji’s lottery at the FASANOC Boardroom, yesterday.

The 2015 Pacific Games will be held at the 4th to the 18th of July in Papua New Guinea.
