The Shop n Save Athletics Fiji team is eyeing eight gold medals at the Pacific Games, next month.

Coach, Makelesi Batimala says the preparation has been well underway and athletes have been showing positive results in their individual events.

The former Pacific sprint queen adds the level of fitness within the squad has improved, which is a positive sign.

Meanwhile, west-based athletes Shauntell Lokington, Batinisavu Uluiyata, Makereta Naulu and Waisale Dausoko have moved to Suva to train with the rest of the squad.

Athletics Fiji will send 26 athletes to the Pacific Games, in Papua New Guinea from July 4th to the 18th.
