Asia Pacific Dragons out to scout for more players in Fiji

The Asia Pacific Dragons is targeting to scout more local players from its partners, the Westfield Dragons rugby team for overseas contracts at their upcoming inaugural local 7’s tournament, next month.

Dragons coach and former national rep, Sakaraia Labalaba made the following comments following the handing over of new sporting kits to the Nadi based club, yesterday.

Labalaba says there are a lot of talents in Fiji and their motive is to get them recognized.

“For the Dragons Club here in Fiji to send players and play tournaments Overseas so that they can be seen and also try to utilize those opportunities to open doors for them in terms contracts Overseas in bigger clubs.”

Meanwhile, the rugby kit contained new uniforms, t-shirts, tackling bags and hit shields.

The Westfield Dragons Mini 7s tournament will be held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on the 19th of next month.

The winner will automatically qualify for the Coral Coast 7s at Lawaqa Park in January next year.
