Team Asia won the Girls’ and Boys’ Team Events at the International Table Tennis World Cadet Challenge, defending their titles from 2016 last night.
In the Girls’ Team Event, Team Asia beat North America 3-0.
Meanwhile in the Boy’s Team Event Asia took down Team Europe 3-0 and will be standing on top of the podium for the second year in a row.
Asian Table Tennis Team Manager, Afshin says the professionalism of his athletes and the high standards they had set for themselves showed throughout the tournament.
“My players showed fighting spirit because it some competitions players could lose concentration. So many things can happen in Table Tennis so our players showed they had what it took to win the gold medal.”
Competitors have taken today off from the tournament and will resume tomorrow.
