Army aims to stamp its mark in Vodafone Cup

The revived Army Bears Rugby League team aims to stamp its mark in the Vodafone Cup and the 2017 Army World Cup in Australia next month.

Regrouped after a lapse of five years, the Jese Koroibula coached side defeated UPS Islanders 26-16 yesterday in the final round robin.

Coach, Jese Koroibula says many of these players are new to the competition but no strangers to the sport.

“It doesn’t make any difference to us as most players have been playing from various clubs and we’re so thankful that the last couple of games we managed to make a team and build up for the competition."

The Army Bears are leading the Suva Nasinu Zone standing after nine matches.
The Team has won seven and lost two matches.
