Another day without any Gold for Fiji

July 7, 2015 6:51 pm

It was yet another unsuccessful night for Team Fiji in the swimming competition at the Pacific Games yesterday.

Fiji failed to win any gold medal in the swimming finals and only raked in two silver medals.

Matelita Buadromo got a silver in the women’s 200 metres freestyle, while Caroline Puamau also only managed a silver in the 50m backstroke.

Weightlifter Apolonia Vaivai won three silver medals in the women’s 75kg category. She finished second in the snatch and clean and jerk, while totalling 204kg.

Samoa’s Mary Opeloge won the gold.

In cricket, the Fiji women lost by 81 runs to PNG.
