All Whites danger

May 28, 2012 5:01 am

Flying high after their weekend antics, the New Zealand All Whites will be no pushovers for the Fiji national soccer team when they go head to head next week in their first Oceania Nations Cup clash.

National coach, Carlos Buzzetti is none the less confident that Fiji will have a good tournament, which is the first obstacle for Fiji if they intend to hit the next round of qualifiers for the World Cup.

Buzzetti knows the All Whites will be strong and unlike other teams, our players are coming back from a gruelling tournament, giving him only six days to prepare.

“They have all the players in the world and they have a full squad so it is going to be a extremely difficult game. I wish we had more time but we will have to do our best. There is nothing we can do. We had minimal time this week coming from a tournament with some players receiving knocks. So this week was more of a recovery. The game is going to be very difficult.”

Meanwhile, Lautoka goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau is the most likely to get the nod as skipper with either teammate Peni Finau or capital city defender, Samuela Vula as vice-captains.

Fiji faces New Zealand on June 4th, followed by the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.
