A lot is being said about the second major football tournament which begins today.
The wait for thousands of football fans will finally be over when the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament kicks off in Nausori.
Fiji FA technical director Ravinesh Kumar says the age group players just might prove to be the x-factor in the teams they will play for.
“Especially the Under 20’s. This will their first tournament this year as they did not play in the Fiji FACT and these players have gained a lot of experience playing about nine international matches including the games at the World Cup and the friendly matches we played against Mexico and Columbia.”
He adds there will also be Under-14 and 16 games played during the BOG.
The tournament gets underway at 1pm with Shop and Save Lautoka playing Tailevu Naitasiri.
In other games, Jack’s Nadi will take on Jedi’s Suva at 3pm, Gecko’s Trucking Nadroga will be taking on Fulton Hogan Labasa at 5.30pm.
Ba takes on Rewa in the last match at 7.30pm.
You can catch live commentaries of the Suva-Nadi, Labasa-Nadroga and Rewa-Ba games on Radio Fiji 2 with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart.
