The Fiji Junior Tribe under 15 AFL team is confident of a good outing at the Oceania Cup that started yesterday at Albert Park in Suva.
The week long- event includes four competing nations including Fiji, defending champion Nauru Stars, Solomon Islands and Tonga Thunder.
AFL Fiji development officer Simon Highfield says Fiji has prepared well and are optimistic about their chances.
“I love our team this year and we got a mixture of experienced and youth players and a lot of strong bodies. We have some rock men and I’m really excited and I think we have a high chance of winning the championship”.
Coach Maciu Raida says the side is anticipating a tough Pacific battle.
The tournament is also a trial for players from all participating teams to represent the Oceania region in the Under 16 Queensland States championship next year.
The tournament ends on Friday.
