The AFL Fiji is pleased with the involvement of women in the AFL sport.
This was after women showing interest and the performance of the women’s team in international competitions.
Development Officer Simon Highfield says there are more women who has shown interest in the developing the sport.
“Our female grew over a fifty percent so it’s really promising to see our female staff of engaging more females at school and community level but just overall AFL Fiji is an organization to see us grow to over 17 thousand people it’s fantastic and obviously building it into the future and try and sustain and maintain the quality and the number of programs but also just trying to create more awareness of the sport and improve everything we do”.
Meanwhile, the AFL women’s team is ranked fifth in the AFL international standings.
