AFL continues to grow in Fiji and the Pacific: Drew

The sport of Aussie Rules Football continues to grow in Fiji and the pacific.

This was revealed to FBC Sports by AFL Oceania Development Manager Ben Drew.

Drew says there is a lot of raw talent in the pacific that needs to be developed.

He adds that many have shown interest in knowing and playing the sport as their numbers continue to grow.

“We’re growing very quickly. We average about 100,000 participants a year across the pacific. Fiji on average would have about ten to fifteen thousand across Suva and on to the west. It’s improving and the talent is getting better but more importantly this is just another option and another opportunity for another quality player that our youths and kids can all be a part of.”

Meanwhile the Nauru U15 side has won the 2019 Oceania Cup.
