Adamson observes local players ahead of June test

The newly appointed interim coach for Vodafone Fiji Bati, Mathew Adamson, is currently in the country to observe local players performance before naming his squad for the Pacific June test.

Few local players who are part of the Fiji Residents side is expected to be named in the final squad.

Coach Mathew Adamson, says they are working closely with Fiji’s development officers on the selection.

“Here with our Fijian players, the local kids we’ll continue to monitor their progress the staff have conducted fitness test on those players and we will work consistently over the next few weeks together a good strong squad of eighteen players and possibly further take a two players in the camp to make the squad of twenty.”

Adamson adds they will need the approval on the overseas based players club, who have shown interest in playing against Papua New Guinea.

Adamson is expected to name his side in a week’s time, before they head to Australia for the Pacific Test.

Fiji Bati takes on Papua New Guinea on the 23rd of June at Campbell town Sports Stadium.
