8 athletes receive Olympic Scholarship to prepare for 2020 Olympics

Five national athletes have received Olympic Scholarships in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

The scholarship that initially commenced in 2017 was suspended last year, and has been re-introduced under agreed terms.

Tevita Takayawa of Judo and Epeli Rabua are the two new recipients this year.

They join Matelita Buadromo from Swimming, Robert Elder from Archery, and Eugene Vollmer from Athletics.

Meanwhile, Fiji Boxing’s Winston Hill’s scholarship has been re-activated and Fiji Table tennis number one Sally Yee was awarded the final scholarship for next year’s Olympic Games.
