The qualifications of the Vodafone Fiji 7s men and Telecom Fijiana women’s side to the Rio Olympic Game will boost the national bowling team at the upcoming Asia Pacific Championships in New Zealand.
Team Manager, Curtis Mar says with major sporting teams securing spots at the Olympics, it has given them a challenge to also achieve better.
_"We’ve taken cue from the Men’s rugby team and the women’s rugby team who has qualified for Rio, our Rio is the World Championships next year in Christchurch. So, it is for us to go out there and try and achieve the goal that we try and set for ourselves.”
The Asia Pacific Championship is a qualifying tournament for the 2016 World Championship, which will also be held in New Zealand.
The Asia Pacific Championships will begin next Tuesday and will complete on December 6th.
