Bags packed and on their way….the Fiji 7s rugby teams campaign for the IRB World Sevens Series has begun.

Six players assembled at the Fiji Rugby Union House this afternoon, bound for Nadi with the team expected to fly out for Scotland tomorrow morning.

Our Fiji 7s team, however, already seems focussed ahead of the Glasgow 7s which starts on Friday.

Trailing the Kiwis by six points on the series points table can be a distraction but one former rep is confident the team can topple the defending champions.

Niko Verekauta and Timoci Vakadranu will make their debut on the most crucial leg of the series and team management is confident in what they have to offer.

Fiji is pooled with Zimbabwe, Portugal and Argentina and a win in Scotland is a must.
